Just 4.5 miles from the park you'll find a Walmart, perfect for your everyday needs. Enjoy the outdoors while staying at our park by visiting Toccoa Falls, Currahee Vineyards, Paul Anderson Park or Currahee Military Museum. There's also several national and local shops and restaurants in Toccoa. Check out the Stephens County Recreational Department's dog park for a fun day with your pets!
Downtown Lavonia is filled with antique shops and delightful restaurants. The small city that has so much to offer is only 7 miles down the road. Lavonia's Tugaloo State Park is the perfect spot for boating, fishing, swimming, hiking and so much more! The park's boat ramp make access to Lake Hartwell extremely easy.
Helen, GA is a quaint mountain town only 35 miles away. This German inspired village is complete with downtown shops, restaurants, antiques, an art history museum and the Georgia Mountain Coaster. Helen offers travelers outdoor sports like tubing and hiking, along with wine tasting at the many vineyards nearby.
Site of the first major U.S. Gold Rush and the Heart of Georgia Wine Country, Dahlonega offers an authentic, mountain getaway only an hour from our park. Dahlonega offers expansive mountain vistas, roaring waterfalls and bubbling streams, postcard-worthy wineries, and an abundance of entertainment.
The downtown is bustling with antiques, art & collectibles shops, dining for all tastes, a theater and other interesting stores. Moccasin Creek State Park is nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains on the shores of Lake Burton and offers boating, fishing and hiking. Step back in time at the Old Mauldin House, an in-town farmstead.
